Dear parents/guardians and learners of LCBT

I hope this finds you and your families all well.

We are constantly monitoring Covid rates within the college, and whilst we have managed any reported positive cases successfully, cases do seem to be increasing again. With this in mind it is more important than ever that we remain vigilant and take extra precautions as a College community where necessary.

From Monday 29th November 2021 we will be asking all College users (learners, staff and visitors) to wear a mask or face covering or face shield in all communal areas, this to protect the health of everyone. Within theory classes, learners can choose to wear a mask or not when seated in theory lessons within their class, unless expressly asked to do so by their lecturer. For practical lessons, learners are still required to wear PPE to industry standards throughout the treatment and this is especially important. Any learner that does not do this, or does not wear a mask in communal areas may be sent home. Please support us in this by reminding your daughter / son to follow the College policy on this at all times.

We will also be ensuring that sanitising stations are available in all rooms and on the college reception and will continue to deep clean rooms on a regular basis.

If you or anyone in your household has any symptoms and need to self-isolate, please notify LCBT immediately at lcbt.attendance@lcbt.co.uk, we will provide guidance on the steps you should follow.

We are carefully monitoring the situation continuously and any further updates will be communicated with you.

The government have recently advised that anyone aged over 40 can book their Covid booster jab, more information around vaccinations can be found on this link: People urged to get booster jabs to keep your family protected this Christmas – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

I know we remain in uncertain and difficult times for many, but at LCBT we continue to provide a strong, safe, and welcoming learning environment. We have supported all our learners over the past 24 months to successfully complete and graduate from their course and stand strong to continue to support our learners throughout this difficult time. If you have any feedback please contact talkback@lcbt.co.uk

With best wishes
