Enrichment, Events and Employer Engagement Officer (Full-time - Maternity Cover)

LCBT is looking for a motivated and passionate candidate with exceptional organisation skills and the ability to continuously develop new employer engagement, activities and opportunities for learners.

LCBT's mission statement is courses for careers, and a key focus of this role is to engage with and network with employers enabling learners to maximise their exposure to the industries they are studying in and the wide ranging opportunities available to them through industry talks, events, work experience and industry placements.

Customer Services Advisor (Full-time, Permanent)

As a college Customer Services Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for current and prospective students, parents/guardians, employers and those requiring the services of the college. You will have a friendly and helpful manner with an eye for detail and thoroughness to support potential students efficiently and effectively on to their chosen course. The ability to provide effective communication, ask questions, record taking and provide information, advice and guidance are a must-have, as are excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to use your own initiative as well as work on a team. The ideal candidate must be robust and resilient yet have a flexible and personable approach. You must be highly numerate and have good IT skills.   • Provide effective communication to prospective students and parents/guardians in a professional manner and one which is both informative and conducive to maintaining the college's high reputation within education and industry
  • Interview, assess and give clear, accurate and relevant information, advice and guidance to candidates
  • Provide accurate initial course eigibility and fee assessment, information, advice and guidance as well as potential funding that may be available to candidates
  • Work flexibly to allow access to candidates at times which meet their needs
  • Deal with queries by phone, email and in person in a fast-paced environment
  • Provide effective communication to prospective students and parents/guardians in a professional manner and one which is both informative and conducive to maintaining the college's high reputation within education and industry
  • Interview, assess and give clear, accurate and relevant information, advice and guidance to candidates
  • Communicate outcomes of applications in a timely and effective manner by email
  • Attend external events including school open days, Career Fairs and exhibitions and deliver presentations at these events
  • Promote interest externally amongst schools, career offices, employment services and other relevant agencies by carrying out presentations, Application Events, Information, Advice and Guidance sessions, etc.
  • Ensure prompt response time to any enquiry or application
  • Communicate with learners about any aspect of their chosen course – start information, changes to course, course cancellation, etc.
  • Process and record payments from students booking onto courses
  • Manage work efficiently and effectively to ensure achievement of individual and team targets within expected timeframes
  • Communicate with the staff team any relevant communications sent to customer services
  • Record deliveries, distribute post and manage certificate collection from students
  • Enter student details accurately on to the Learner Management System (REMS) and update reports as required
  • Process applications and enter relevant information on the database
  • Keep product and funding knowledge up to date
  • Maintain accurate tracking systems as required within the department and ensure that all work meets internal and external funding, audit and inspection requirements

Beauty Therapy Lecturer (F/T and P/T available)

Due to the continued development of the College we are continually looking for full time and part time Lecturers. The successful candidate will be part of our fast passed dynamic E&T department and will be responsible for teaching and assessing learners amongst other duties. Candidates require the following or an equivalent:

  • NVQ/ Diploma in Beauty Therapy level 3, BTEC, ITEC or equivalent;
  • Teaching qualification, minimum PTLLS or willing to work toward gaining DTLLS/Cert Ed;
  • Assessors Award (A1) or equivalent or willing to work towards within probation;
  • Experience of working within a spa/salon environment;
  • Experience of working as a tutor

Hair and Media Make-up Lecturer (F/T and P/T available)

LCBT started the Hair and Media make-up programme in September 2013. Since starting this provision it has been a very successful and has increased in popularity. Therefore we are looking to recruit a number of lecturers based on full time or part time hours. Candidates require the following or an equivalent:

  • NVQ/Diploma hair and Media Make up to Level 3, BTEC National Diploma, ITEC or equivalent
  • Teaching qualification, minimum PTLLS or willing to work toward gaining DTLLS/Cert Ed
  • Assessors award A1 or equivalent or willing to work towards within probation period
  • Experience of working within a spa/salon/make up environment
  • Experience of working as a tutor or facilitator
