From our partners and Wellbeing experts Aromatherapy Associates, here are their tips and advice to improve your wellbeing.
Wellbeing is the state of being comfortable, healthy or happy.

Living in the 21st Century we are all working harder than ever, striving to be the best version of ourselves at all times and simply not taking enough time to enjoy our lives. Having good mental and physical wellbeing is essential for us to function and be happy.

There are endless things that we can all adopt to try and improve our wellbeing. Being more mindful, regularly meditating, managing stress levels and improving positivity.

If you have good mental and physical wellbeing you are able to:

  • Live and work productively
  • Feel more engaged
  • Cope with daily stresses
  • Feel more confident
  • Boost confidence

Aromatherapy Associates Wellness Experts have put together 6 simple steps that you can adopt in order to improve your wellbeing:

  1. Mindfulness – Being more aware of your thoughts, feelings and surroundings can positively change how you feel.
  2. Kindness – Small acts of kindness can improve your mental wellbeing. Even the smallest acts can count; smiling at someone or paying a compliment.
  3.  Active – Move more! Walk, cycle, swim or take the stairs rather than escalator!
  4. Learn – Learning new things can help give you a sense of achievement and confidence! Sign up to learn something new today!
  5. Connect – Spend more time developing relationships with friends, colleagues and family!
  6. Emotions – Accept them. Sometimes we spend energy avoiding our emotions than actually feeling them. Give yourself unconditional permission to feel your feelings.

Taking better care of your mind and body boosts your wellbeing and provides instant benefits to help you manage difficulties in your life.

LCBT Student Award Winners

LCBT (London College of Beauty Therapy) celebrated the success of their students at their annual LCBT Star Awards on Friday 9th June at a beautiful awards ceremony in the centre of London.
Learners from all provisions attended the ceremony to win awards across 29 different categories, ranging from Outstanding Achievement Awards to Manicurist of the year. Attended by various industry leaders and brand connections to support the afternoon the ceremony was a hub of Beauty, Make-Up and Fitness professionals celebrating successes and inviting the next generation of newly qualified beauty therapists, personal trainers and make-up artists into ever growing, popular industries across the UK and worldwide.

An inspirational speech given by Aromatherapy Associates CEO, Tracey Woodward, was a highlight of the awards, speaking volumes to so many of the audience, from a background in Beauty retails and working for some of the biggest brands in the industry; Tracey gave an encouraging true to life speech reminding learners that achieving dream goals is a possibility in a world full of opportunity, with sounding advice Tracey shared from her mother that will be remembered by all at the ceremony, ‘Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right’.

Christianne Cavaliere, LCBT CEO had this to say of the awards ‘They are a great way to show our learners how much they have achieved since they have started with us, to motivate them to take the next steps in their careers and deliver them into the industries they have worked to be a part of. This is just the start of our learner’s journeys to go on and achieve great things with a fantastic education as a base for their futures’.

The ceremony was closed by CEW UK President, Caroline Neville, who spoke kindly as LCBT remembered their founder Eileen Cavalier, OBE. Caroline alongside Christianne presented the Eileen Cavalier OBE Student of Excellence Award for the second year running to a deserving and hard-working Level 3 Hair and Media Make-Up learner.

With huge thanks to all the sponsors, attendees and support from brands, employers and attendees, the day was a huge success with everyone leaving feeling a sense of achievement and looking forward to the LCBT Star Awards 2018.
