LCBT – College Update – Easing of Restrictions – 17th of May 2021

Dear parents/guardians and learners of LCBT

 I hope this finds you and your families all well.

As restrictions are starting to ease, I am just writing to update you on our plans within the College to operate a Covid safe environment. 

From Monday 17th May, in accordance with the guidance we will no longer be requiring students to wear masks within classrooms when not conducting practical treatments. We will however continue to ask students to wear masks when moving around the communal areas and also in line with industry guidance wear the appropriate PPE when conducting practical treatments. 

From Monday 17th, we will also extend the College day for learners from 9am -5pm in line with our regular hours. 

We will continue to maintain social distancing within the College and enhanced measures will continue to be in place such as: 

• Increased cleaning and hygiene in all areas 
• Maintaining class bubbles 
• Staggering break and lunch times to limit congestion around the College 

We also ask learners to continue the lateral flow testing we have in place and send their results to us twice a week. This has been working well and will help us to continue to maintain a Covid safe environment for all the learners. 

The College salon will open partially over the coming weeks to outside clients for learners practice and assessments and we aim to fully open the commercial salon for all learners and all treatments by 21st June 2021. An updated risk assessment on measures will be published on our website from Monday the 17th May 2021. 

This is an incredibly important time in the year for all learners as for many they will be completing their final assessments and observations. It is also a very exciting time as they are looking forward to graduate. We are here to support everyone with their next steps, and whether that is finding employment or progressing on to the next stage in their education journey we are here to help. 

Jobshop@lcbt.co.uk can help with all next step career enquiries and work placements, jobs and UCAS help, and our admissions team can help with any progressions to courses within LCBT, just email customer.service@lcbt.co.uk to make an appointment. We now offer Government Funded and Advanced Learner Loan courses up to Level 4 in both Advanced Aesthetics for Therapists as well as Level 4 Advanced Make up Artistry. We will also from September be offering Level 3 Social Media for Business for those looking to work with social media within these industries and launching our new Level 2 Technical Certificate in Healthcare, Care and Childcare to support those wanting to pursue a career within growing and vitally important social health and care industry.
