This course is the ideal starting point for anyone wanting to pursue a career in beauty therapy. On this course, you’ll learn the essential skills and techniques needed to progress to a Level 3 course and become a fully qualified beauty therapist.

Our Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy teaches you the essential skills to start your journey to a career as a beauty therapist. You’ll learn to perform many of the most popular beauty treatments offered by salons and spas across the UK, such as nail care, waxing, and eyebrow and lash enhancement.
We’ll also teach you about the responsibilities and duties you’ll be expected to carry out when working in a salon environment.
You’ll also explore sales and marketing techniques and the principles of good customer service, as well as learning about the beauty industry in the UK, health and safety legislation. You’ll learn how all these elements work together in a salon environment to provide the best experience for your customers.
Practical learning takes place in LCBT’s own salon, where you will have the opportunity to practice your skills with real clients. We will provide you with a uniform to wear whilst you are at college. You will need to purchase the beauty kit to practice treatments for a small fee.

Entry Requirements
Aged 16-18
Proficient in English reading, writing, listening and speaking
If you haven’t achieved a minimum grade 4 in GCSE English and/or Maths, you will need to complete Functional Skills or the relevant GCSEs alongside your studies. This will be embedded into your course and is a mandatory government requirement.
Overseas Applicants
Evidence of your legal right to study in the UK will be required. LCBT is unable to provide any assistance with visa applications.
Important Information
We are a diverse college and you may be in a group with students of all genders. You will be required to perform and receive all treatments with students on your course. If you cannot have certain treatments performed for medical reasons please ensure you let us know when you apply.

Duration & Timetable
One year, two days a week, with occasional weekends and evenings.
If you are resitting Maths or English, you will study for an additional 3–6 hours per week, per subject.

The Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy gives you an excellent foundation in the skills required to work in a salon, spa or beauty retail setting, and on successful completion of the course you’ll be ready to progress onto a Level 3 course to become fully qualified as a beauty therapist or follow your passion for make-up or hairdressing.

This course is the ideal introduction to hair styling and make-up for the dynamic world of film, TV and theatre, and teaches you a broad range of essential skills and techniques to start a career as a make-up artist or hair stylist.
