Designed to build on the essential skills learned at Level 2, this course will teach you advanced cutting and styling techniques and as well as gaining additional practical experience in hair colouring and an understanding of different products.

This Level 3 Diploma in Hair Services follows on from a Level 2 qualification in hairdressing, adding a range of essential and advanced skills to your portfolio. You will complete the course with the confidence to create a variety of popular and more technically challenging styles for your clients.
We’ll teach you advanced cutting and colouring techniques, and you will also increase your skills in dressing and hair. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of health and safety practice in the salon, and develop your knowledge of how to sell and promote your services and products, as well as how to support colleagues with consultations.
Practical learning takes place in LCBT’s own Salon where you will have the opportunity to practice your skills with real clients, as well as modelling for other students and sourcing your own models for practical training and assessments. We will provide you with a uniform to wear whilst you are at college. You will need to purchase the hairdressing kit to practice techniques for a small fee.

Entry Requirements
Aged 16-18
Level 2 qualification in Hairdressing
Proficient in English reading, writing, listening and speaking.
If you haven’t achieved a minimum grade 4 in GCSE English and/or Maths, you will need to complete Functional Skills or the relevant GCSEs alongside your studies. This will be embedded into your course and is a mandatory government requirement.
Overseas Applicants
Evidence of your legal right to study in the UK will be required. LCBT is unable to provide any assistance with visa applications.
Important Information
We are a diverse college and you may be in a group with students of all genders. You will be required to perform and receive all treatments with students on your course. If you cannot have certain treatments performed for medical reasons please ensure you let us know when you apply.

Duration & Timetable
1 year, two days per week, which may include some weekends and evenings.
If you need to resit GCSE English or Maths or complete Functional Skills, you will study for an extra 3–6 hours per week, per subject.

On successful completion of this course you will gain a Level 3 Diploma in Hair Services and be ready to take on a role as a Senior Stylist or Colour Technician.

Designed for those wishing to pursue a career in film, TV and theatre hair and make-up, this course builds on the skills learned at Level 2 to develop a portfolio of advanced techniques and industry knowledge.
