LCBT Students Attend Exclusive NARS Masterclass

At LCBT, we offer our students exciting opportunities to learn from industry experts. Recently, our Level 2 Hair & Media Make-up students attended a masterclass at NARS, where they got the chance to learn directly from the NARS Pro Artistry team.

What did the Masterclass Cover?

The masterclass was led by three talented make-up artists from the NARS Pro Artistry team, who showed students how to create a signature NARS look. Here’s what the session included:

• Make-up tips: The NARS artists shared their expert tips on how to create a classic NARS look.
• Product knowledge: Students learned about NARS products, including colour theory, textures, selection and the ingredients.
• Industry advice: The artists talked about working in different areas of the make-up industry, such as fashion, bridal, film/TV and theatre. They also gave valuable advice about the importance of work experience and staying authentic.
• Building a make-up kit: Students received guidance on what to include in a professional make-up kit, including how to build one on a budget.
• Q&A session: Students had the chance to ask the artists questions about their careers, artistry and product choices.

Hands-On Experience at the NARS Shop

After the demonstration, students visited the NARS shop floor to get personal advice from the NARS artists building their kits. The artists helped students choose the best products and shades for their needs. Students also received a special discount on any products they wanted to purchase.

If you’re aged 16 to 18, and interested in pursing a career in media make-up and hair, our Level 2 Hair & Media Make-up course is the ideal starting point. This one-year course provides a complete introduction to the world of film, TV and theatre make-up. You’ll learn essential skills and techniques that will help you progress onto a Level 3 course and become a professional make-up artist or hair stylist.

For those 19 or older, we also offer a 19+ Level 3 Hair & Media Make-Up course, which combines both Level 2 and Level 3 units into one year. This programme gives you the opportunity to build your skills and gain advanced knowledge, preparing you for even more career opportunities in the make-up and hair industry.
