Learn to style vintage themed hair and make-up techniques, transporting you through styles from the 20’s all the way to the 60’s. Gain knowledge, inspiration and learn how to apply make-up and style hair using expert techniques.

The LCBT Vintage hair & make-up workshop will introduce you to the vintage themed hair and make-up techniques, this workshop will transport you through the ages from the roaring 20’s to the swinging 60’s. You will gain knowledge and inspiration on the hair and make-up trends during different decades and learn how to apply make-up and style hair using expert techniques.

Entry Requirements

You will be required to have basic application skills in day make-up.

Minimum age is 16.

A training kit will be available to use over the 3 days enabling you to complete the course.

You will also receive a basic brush set to keep, use and practice the techniques taught on the course at home. You can also bring your own kits to use on the course.

Course Outline

The three day training course will combine knowledge and practical demonstrations covering professional techniques of styling vintage hair and make-up.

You will also learn about make-up techniques, trends and hair styles that were popular within the decades between the 20’s and 60’s. You will learn how to apply these make-up trends and style hair using expert techniques.

Topics Covered

  • Period make-up application through the styles of the 20’s through to the 60’s
  • Period hair styling, recreating the hair styles of the 20’s through to the 60’s
  • Retro grooming inspired from the different decades.


  • Trainees will be provided with a LCBT accredited Vintage Hair & Make-up Certificate after completing the three days of training.
  • No case studies are required.
  • Certification is from The London College of Beauty Therapy and does not come under any awarding body.

Additional Information/FAQ

What do I need to bring?

Students are asked to attend fresh faced with minimal makeup. Black clothing with black closed-toe shoes. Students do not need to bring anything else with them, other than pen/paper to take notes if required.

You should not be wearing any nail varnish or jewellery and long hair must be tied up.

If you wish to bring your own make-up product range, vintage clothes and tools to use, you can do so.
