Hair and Media Make-Up Masterclass with Kryolan

Recently, our Level 2 and Level 3 Hair and Media Make-Up Diploma students had the exciting opportunity to attend a masterclass led by Kryolan Pro Artist, Emma. This immersive session focused on special effects make-up and taught the students real-world industry techniques.
What is Kryolan?
Kyrolan is a globally renowned professional make-up brand known for its high-quality products, widely used in theatre, film and TV. As one of the first cosmetic brands in the world, Kryolan has been formulating and manufacturing its own products for over 80 years.
What Did the Masterclass Involve?
The masterclass provided a great opportunity for hands-on leaning. During the session, students:
- Explored advanced special effects application methods
- Gained valuable insights into working within the special effects sector
- Took part in an interactive Q&A session, receiving personalised advice on career pathways, freelance opportunities, and industry expectations
Study Hair & Media Make-Up at LCBT
We offer a range of diplomas in hair and media make-up to help you build the skills you need to succeed. They’ll teach you how to apply make-up and style hair for a range of different clients and occasions, such as film, TV and theatre.
They’re fully-funded for students aged 16-18, and those aged 19+ can take out a loan you only pay back once you’re earning over £25,000.
Level 2 Hair & Media Make-Up Diploma:
A one-year course for 16-18 year olds covering the foundations of hair and media make-up, such as:
- Photographic make-up
- Lash & brow techniques
- Creative hair design
- and more!
Level 3 Hair & Media Make-Up Diploma:
Designed to build on Level 2 skills, this course teaches more advanced techniques such as airbrushing, camouflage and special effects make-up.
19+ Level 3 Hair & Media Make-Up Diploma:
We also offer a 19+ Level 3 Diploma for adult learners, to provide you with advanced skills needed to work in TV, film and editorial make-up. To enrol on this course, you must already hold a relevant Level 2 qualification and be aged 19 or older.
