Kryolan Special Effects Masterclass with Alumni, Emma

Our Hair & Media Make-Up students recently attended a Kryolan special effects masterclass, led by Pro Make-Up Artist, Emma Elizabeth. It was an especially meaningful session, as Emma studied Hair & Media Make-Up at LCBT 10 years ago, making it a full-circle moment to return and teach students she was once in the same position as.
About The Masterclass
During the session, Emma covered special effects in casualty and trauma make-up, and introduced students to Kryolan’s product range. She was full of praise for the students, sharing:
“I was really impressed with how the students were so forthcoming and they asked me so many questions. They seemed genuinely really interested to learn!”
Emma’s Journey From Student to Pro Artist
Emma has always been creative. She first studied Art & Design, but after realising how much of it is now on computers, she decided she wanted something more hands-on – which led her to the make-up industry. She joined LCBT to study Hair & Media Make-Up, learning a wide-range of skills including make-up, hair and eyebrow waxing.
During her time at LCBT, Emma took part in a special effects workshop, which sparked her passion for it. That experience inspired her to specialise in special effects and theatrical make-up, setting her on the career path she’s on today.
Emma shared how lovely it was to see how much LCBT has grown – from our new Fashion Street campus to our continued course development.
