From LCBT Student to Wink Beauty Salon Owner: Building a Team of LCBT Graduates

We recently spoke to Charley, Owner of Wink Beauty and LCBT alumni, who studied Level 2 and Level 3 Beauty Therapy with us and has since gone on to build her own successful salon – now employing other LCBT graduates!

How Do You Know If Beauty Therapy Is The Right Career For You?

Like many students, Charley wasn’t always sure which path to take. After reflecting on her strengths, she realised she enjoyed working with people, had a creative side and didn’t want to spend her days behind a desk. That’s when beauty stood out as the perfect fit!

She began with Level 2 Beauty Therapy at LCBT before progressing to Level 3, building the skills and confidence she needed to enter the industry.

Why Study Beauty Therapy at LCBT?

For Charley, the hands-on training at LCBT was key. It prepared her for real salon life and gave her the confidence to move straight into employment.

Kez, now Salon Manager at Wink Beauty and also an LCBT alumni, shared how the skills she learned are part of her everyday role.

She also highlighted the importance of industry exposure while studying – meeting brands, understanding career paths and discovering opportunities. LCBT supported her in securing her first role with Nails Inc at Selfridges.
