Meet Luisa, our New Salon Manager

At the London College of Beauty Therapy, we’re excited to introduce our new salon manager, Luisa. Her inspiring journey from being a student at LCBT to managing our on-site salon shows a great example of where a career in beauty therapy can lead you.
Luisa’s Time as a Student at LCBT
After finishing her GCSEs and A-Levels, Luisa wasn’t sure which career path to take. She decided to take a gap year to explore her interests and quickly discovered her passion for beauty. The flexibility and opportunities within the beauty industry perfectly aligned with her aspirations to travel, and she knew this was the path she wanted to pursue.
Luisa began researching beauty colleges and came across LCBT, drawn by its reputation as London’s no.1 beauty college. She enrolled on our Level 2 Beauty Therapy Diploma, a one-year course designed for 16-18 year olds. This course is the perfect starting point for anyone looking to build a career in beauty therapy; you’ll develop essential skills and knowledge before progressing to a Level 3 qualification and becoming a qualified beauty therapist.
Luisa found the course both enjoyable and motivating, thanks to the supportive environment and diverse class. She then wanted to grow her skills further and chose to continue her studies with our Level 3 Beauty Therapy Apprenticeship, which allowed her to gain hands-on industry experience while earning an income.
From Apprentice to Salon Manager
Luisa’s apprenticeship played a huge role in shaping her career. Although her apprenticeship meant attending college only once a week, she found the sessions highly engaging and full of valuable insights, thanks to guidance of her tutor.

After completing her apprenticeship, Luisa worked as our salon receptionist for a year before deciding to gain more industry experience. She then took a role in aesthetics, working in a clinic for year, before deciding to become a freelance beauty therapist.
Luisa freelanced for over 6 years, which allowed her to travel to Australia to work in luxury hotels and spas on remote islands. She also spent three months in Indonesia specialising in massages and holistic treatments. Afterwards, Luisa knew she wanted to return to LCBT and bring her new skills back with her!
“Now I’ve returned to London, it feels incredibly rewarding to be back at LCBT – it’s like completing a full circle in my professional journey!”
Luisa’s Advice to Future Students
Luisa encourages future LCBT students to step outside their comfort zone, try new things and keep an open mind. You never know where your studies might take you – so be ready to learn and don’t hesitate to ask questions!

About the Salon
At LCBT, we have an on-site salon that allows students to practice real salon treatments on actual clients. Our salon offers a wide-range of services, using luxury products from well-known brands such as Kaeso, ESPA and Mavala.
Once you’ve completed your necessary theoretical training, you’ll gain hands-on experience working with real clients under the supervision of qualified lecturers. Whether you’re interested in hair, make-up or beauty therapy, the practical experience you’ll gain on the course will give you the confidence and skills you need for your career!
