Beauty Therapy

Look Good – Feel Good is a culture which combines Health and Beauty.  There has been phenomenal growth in the number of Health Clubs, Spa’s and gyms which offer beauty treatments as part of a holistic approach to making people feel good about themselves. 

Hotels, cruise ships, airlines and even airports, now offer beauty treatments to their clients. People expect to be able to relax and enjoy a bit of pampering throughout their trip or holiday.  All these sectors, in addition to Beauty Salons and Nail Bars,  continue to flourish and expand.

There are other careers, not immediately obvious, that are open to you; beauty journalism or PR for example, (it's difficult to write about and promote treatments you know nothing about) and every time you visit a beauty exhibition everybody demonstrating the beauty equipment or products will have trained as a therapist at some point.

Beauty Retail

Within the retail sector, beauty is the third largest in sales volume. In every store you go into it will be centre stage on the ground floor. It is dynamic, fast-moving, with new products, new fragrances and new promotions arriving daily.  A Retail Beauty Consultant is very much a part of this excitement. On our BTEC in Beauty Retail Consultancy course you will have the opportunity to demonstrate the relevant skills you have learned and get yourself noticed by your clients and employer! 

Perhaps you want to go into management. The opportunities are there for those that excel, and the Retail Beauty Industry recognises excellence and rewards it.

Holistic Care

Skills in Holistic Care can provide access to many new career paths. For a qualified therapist training and qualification in these therapies will enable them to provide alternative treatments in the Look Good – Feel Good culture combining Health and Beauty broadening their customer base.

Equally,  to people working within the Community Care sector, or to Carers at home, the Holistic Care programmes can provide you with the necessary skills to bring comfort to those that you care for.

What do you need to be successful?

Determination to be the best

To be regarded as a professional you need to be well-groomed and immaculate, know your subject inside and out, want to make people feel good about themselves and treat clients with tact and diplomacy. In both the beauty retail and beauty therapy sectors you will need to generate revenue through the successful promotion of both treatments and products.
