NVQ Open days

At LCBT, we hold Open Days throughout the year. Coming along to an Open Day ensures that you are enrolled on the right programme to ensure you achieve your goals and ambitions.

Our application process ensures that you are supported in your decision to undertake a vocationally relevant course at the right level for you. To enrol on a programme for a full qualification (not a short course) you must first attend an Application and Open Day and then meet with an Admissions Advisor who will be able to answer any questions you may have and advise you accordingly. You can book a place by completing our enquiry formor telephoning 020 7208 1300.

Application and Open Days for NVQ Level 1 and 2

To book a place on an Open Day, fill in the enquiry form and select from the list of available dates. Open Days include:

Presentation on careers, the College and which courses will help you achieve your aspirations
Tour of the College facilities
Initial assessment to ensure you enrol on the right course
One-to-one advice and guidance (to answer any questions you may have)
Key skills diagnostic and skills scan

All of this is intended to ensure that you are enrolled on the right programme.

When you come along to the Open Day you must bring the following items:

Copies of qualification certificates, or predicted examination results (if under 19)
A reference from your school, or current/recent employer
Proof that you are in receipt of benefits. (If JSA a letter from your Job Centre is required)
Your National Insurance number
Photographic identification such as a passport or driving licence (we may be able to accept a birth certificate if you don't have either of these)
Any relevant visa and/or documents that give you the right to remain in the UK and attend College
A handwritten personal statement outlining why you would like to enrol on course and what your aims and ambitions are in the beauty industry
A passport-sized photograph

Application and Open Days for NVQ Level 3

The content of Level 3 Career Open Days has a similar format to above but focuses on the Careers options.

You must bring along the same documentation (as above)
You will be required to show proof of attainment of Beauty Therapy NVQ Level 2
You may be required to undertake assessments covering a variety of elements from NVQ Level 2 to demonstrate your ability to undertake the higher level skills within NVQ Level 3

Short Courses

If you would like to enrol on one of our short courses, it may not be necessary to come into the College to talk to an advisor, although we would recommend you do so, especially if you are planning a career change or wish to plan continued study to work towards a specific qualification.

An application form can be sent direct to the college for short courses and a place if available will be confirmed. The admissions advisor will advise you of the fees payable and you will be required to pay a 50% deposit to confirm your place on the course.

Offer of a Place on a Programme

You are more likely to be offered a place with us if you can be flexible with your start date. The College is over-subscribed for all programmes and we cannot guarantee that a place will be available.

If an offer is made to you, you must confirm within 7 days of receipt of offer and arrange payment of any deposit required.

Your place on the course is not confirmed until we have received confirmation and payment.

Confirmation of booking

Once we have received your acceptance of the offer and your deposit, we will write to you and confirm your place on the programme on the understanding that full payment of any remaining tuition fees or kit costs are paid in full at least 30 days prior to the start of the course.

You will not be able to join the programme if the full tuition fees or kit costs are not paid in full prior to the start of the programme.
