Entry requirements

Our thorough application process means you are offered the right course for you. We also take into account any special needs you may have.
You may be surprised to know that we are not selective on our entry requirements. We take a holistic view of applicants' abilities and do not only enrol those with high academic attainment. Our main criteria is a passion for the beauty industry and a committed work ethic. We have the highest achievement in the country as a result.

NVQ Courses

What do I need to provide in my application?

When you apply to the College we look at:

  • Your references from previous academic studies or from an employer
  • Your prior qualifications
  • Your English and Mathematics diagnostics and skills scans (completed on your NVQ Open Day)
  • Your personal statement
  • Your one-to-one interview

We want to make sure you can achieve your aim - to be a successful, confident, qualified individual working in a booming industry.

We are consistently over-subscribed and places are in high demand and fill quickly. The application day is your chance to make an impact and secure your place at the leading beauty College!

Learning in the work place

These are employer-led programmes and your employer's consent is required.  Your eligibility can depend on your age and prior qualifications.  Full information can be provided upon application.

Short and Holistic Courses

For courses which are funded by the Learning & Skills Council, the entry requirements are as per the NVQ courses sections above. 

LCBT Certificated courses, may require previous experience or qualifications – please see individual course information for further details.  Where prior qualifications are required, you will need to produce a certificate.

Overseas Students

We welcome applications from overseas learners and offer the same chances and standards of excellence to everyone.

If you are applying for a student visa we can make a conditional offer on that basis.

You will be expected to pay a deposit in advance and a place will then be reserved for you on a suitable course start date. You will need to pay your course fees, in full, at least 30 days before the start of your course.
