What is Indian Head Massage?

Indian head massage is an effective treatment applied to areas of the body where stress affects major muscle groups & it often brings immediate relief as tensions are eased and fibrous knots and nodules melt away. The specialised techniques are applied to the upper back, shoulders, upper arms, neck, scalp & finish with a facial with the client remaining seated in an upright position. This means that no expensive chairs are needed making it an available treatment to all as well as an ideal practice to start working with either in your existing salon, at home or mobile or if you wish to set up a small business.
The Indian head massage is a great introduction to holistic therapy & an extremely effective application that has evolved from traditional India practice as part of family rituals for over a thousand years. Although Indian Head Massage has been in existence in India for many years it has only recently started to gain popularity in the West & this ancient and fascinating holistic art uses different pressure points & massage techniques from both the Eastern & Western ideal to relieve stress & tension in the head & neck area & positively influence the mind & body in a very relaxing way. It helps relieve muscle tension in the neck, shoulders and scalp, headaches, sinusitis, eyestrain, helps to promote hair growth, helps blood and lymph flow to the upper body, promotes relaxation, better sleep, sharper thinking and harmonise your body. You will demonstrate your knowledge with a practical treatment on a fellow course participant.
