Beauty Therapy NVQ Level 3

StudentsAndLecturer
This programme is your passport to lifelong employment in the Beauty Industry. It is intended for those who wish to work as a full Beauty Therapist and have competency in all facial and body treatments, including electrical treatments.
To enrol on this programme you must be qualified to Beauty Therapy NVQ Level 2 standard and undertake further assessment  with the Central Admissions Team.   Programmes are usually two days each week, for 8 months, and require a committment to full attendance.

There is a considerable level of theory which includes anatomy and physiology.  You are required to commit to at least three to five hours home study each week. Additional commercial salon sessions are held to ensure you maintain your skills once learned.

Content - core units

  • Promote additional services to clients
  • Contribute to the financial effectiveness of a business
  • Full body massage
  • Face and body electrical treatments
  • Full body massage using pre-blended aromatherapy oils

Assessment

The qualification is achieved through continuous assessment in both theory and practical treatments, which are undertaken in the salon using e-assessment methods. These could be in the form of; professional discussion, video clips and stills photography. An e-portfolio is compiled as part of the evidence for the awarding body, which will contain your projects and evidence of your practical abilities.

Theoretical assessments require written answers; arrangements can be made to provide a scribe for those who require learning support.

All learners continue working on clients even after achieving competency to ensure standards are maintained.
