Beauty Therapy NVQ Level 1
Level 2
The programme has been designed to act as a foundation progression route to NVQ Beauty Therapy Level 2. Successful completion of NVQ Level 1 is a pre-requisite for this progression.
This is an intensive six week programme and you will have to attend college four days each week, with a commitment to full attendence (without any breaks).
Content - core units
- Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
- Assist with salon reception duties
- Prepare and maintain beauty therapy work area
- Assist with facial treatments (including basic skin structure and function)
- Assist with nail treatments on the hands (including basic nail structure)
Assessment
The qualification is achieved through continuous assessment both in theory and practice. Practical assessments will be undertaken in the salon using the various methods for e-assessments. These could take the form of professional discussions, video clips and still photography.
An e-portfolio is compiled as part of the evidence for the awarding body, which will contain your projects and evidence of practical abilities.
