As part of LCBT's week of promotions and special offers in conjunction with Wellbeing of Women's "Every Mum" campaign, students will also have to opportunity to hear from Dr Peter Bowen Simpkins, consultant gynaecologist and current Medical Director of the London Women's Clinic. On Friday 12th March 2010 Dr Peter Bowen Simpkins will give an hour long seminar on women's health
A Women's Health seminar from Wellbeing of Women is a great opportunity to find out about a variety of health issues that only affect women. Dr Peter Bowen Simpkins will concentrate on those issues that most affect women as they go about their day to day lives and work, however he will be happy to take questions on other issues. His talks include information on contraception, problem periods, fertility, HPV and other reproductive and gynaecological problems.
Peter's presentation is perfectly suited to a lay audience and provides serious information in a light hearted way, he is always happy to answer questions both in public or after the seminar on a more personal basis.
Previous to his current appointment Peter had been a Consultant at Singleton Hospital in Swansea until 2005. He served on the Council of the RCOG for thirteen years and was Honorary Treasurer from 1998-2005. He has been an active supporter of Wellbeing of Women, being a member of the executive committee for many years and latterly as a Trustee. He edits the Wellbeing Journal and he lectures, writes articles and answers press enquiries on behalf of the charity.
