Fiona Bruce, TV presenter, journalist and newsreader, will visit the London College of Beauty Therapy’s central London salon on Wednesday 10th of March in support of its students’ efforts to raise money for Wellbeing of Women’s, Every Mum fundraising campaign. The college’s activities will take place throughout the week (8th March – 13th of March) leading up to Mother’s Day (14th March) at its Great Marlborough Street building, close to Oxford Circus underground station.
Other leading supporters of the charity, as well as its director Liz Campbell and the London College of Beauty Therapy’s founder & CEO Eileen Cavalier, will join Fiona on the day. They are hoping that as many people as possible (especially mothers) will visit the college’s beauty salon to take advantage of the offers and discounts available on treatments during this special week. 10% of the week’s takings at the salon will be donated to the charity.
Wellbeing of Women is the UK’s leading women’s health charity formed in 1964 to support medical research in reproductive and gynaecological health. Its pioneering work has helped save thousands of lives.
Speaking about her support for Wellbeing of Women, Fiona said: “I was delighted to hear about Wellbeing of Women's mother's day campaign and would like to encourage everyone to support it. Having had some scary motherhood moments myself I know just how valuable the research funded by WoW is, which is why I help the charity to raise money. It is so important that they are able to continue raising funds so they can continue the wonderful work they do, and help more women and babies.”
The London College of Beauty Therapy is the UK’s leading beauty training college with 1500 students (97% female). Speaking about her college’s association with Wellbeing of Women, Eileen Cavalier said: “Our students are active charity fundraises and of course women’s good causes are especially popular with them. This initiative is not solely about raising money though as throughout the week our students will also receive important advice on women’s health issues. We hope this is the start of a long-standing relationship with the charity.”
