Want to know what a typical day is like at LCBT? The truth is, no two days in LCBT are ever the same, whether you are a student, an employer or a member of staff. Here's a snap shot of what could be happening.

You enjoy trying out one of the massage techniques you have learned on a fellow student. Your lecturer takes you through a final checklist of what you should be aiming to achieve in one of colleges state-of-the-art demonstration rooms.

Selling Skills
Retail Beauty Consultant's
As a student on the Beauty Retail Diploma you will learn a range of different techniques in store, from makeup application, discussing products and selling to clients. LCBT tutors will keep a close eye on your progress through in-store assessment.

The Business Support Unit meet salon owners to discuss good practice seminar events.

A salon owner wants some advice on ways to improve her range of services and her bottom line. Our Business Support Unit regularly helps salon owners realise their goals.

Practice makes perfect! One of your fellow students lets you try your newly learned facial techniques on her. Tomorrow it's your turn.   At LCBT we think it is vital to mirror the industry you will be employed in, which is why you will be doing these treatments for members of the public, in our working salon, during training.

We offer individual courses for students who want to specialise in a certain field -  you may just want to improve your overall skills portfolio.   Our Senior makeup artists give master-classes on one of our specialist makeup courses.

The vast majority of courses at the college involve practical demonstrations of specialised techniques, in the college's commercially set-up nail bar and salons.

LCBT is at the very forefront of developing the use of e-assessment techniques to enable students to distance study from their workplace.

Our lecturers and tutors are here to make sure you successfully complete your course. Regular assessments are a fundamental part of life at the college and our teaching team are on hand to make sure you do your best and acquire the necessary skills for employment in the Beauty Industry.

Working in the nail bar, with 'real' clients, is a major part of your training experience at LCBT. It prepares you for the future and for the real life working environment you will face.

Many of the friends you make in your time at the College will be friends for life. You will have so much in common, like your desire to succeed in this exciting growth industry, and a determination to bring excellence to everything you do.  Of course, you will be expected to work hard to attain your goals, but the College is also a vibrant, fun place to be.

Before you head home you want to check on vacancies at The Job Shop. You then email your Careers Advisor to find out more about a position that interests you, and your suitability for it.  You also need to check on one of your assignments and ask your personal tutor a question about your assessments, but you can do that from your PC at home later on.
